fans who only purchase music digitally may forget what quality is supposed to sound like. there really is a difference between mp3 and uncompressed cdda audio on compact disk. even high bit rates can’t compare to a physical copy. i’m one of those people who use ridiculously overpriced headphones and it’s disappointing that consumers accepted mp3 as the format they pay for. lossless flac is now offered by independent stores but the majors are yet to catch on. thankfully, the industry is still driven by retail sales. you’ll find me browsing best buy, not itunes. on an unrelated note, it turns out that if i post a direct link to an mp3, there’s a dozen search engine spiders that make it available directly in their search results or in even streaming music apps. no more local links i guess. anyway, here’s an ’02 flashback.
